Examination and Evaluation Policy

EXAMINATION AND PROMOTION POLICY
PRE-PRIMARY TO KG
Students from nursery to KG will be evaluated holistically. It contains Linguistic (Literacy and Hindi ) Aesthetic ( Art, Music and Rhymes), Conceptual (EVS), Cognitive( Numeracy), Motor ( Sports), Socio emotional ( Participation in activities and celebrations.)

CLASSES - I TO III
Students of grades I-III will be assessed and evaluated on their practical as well as their conceptual knowledge of four main subjects English, Hindi, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies. Stress will be given to enhance their co- curricular activities and socio-emotional skills by engaging them in various competitions and celebrations.
Two continuous assessments will be conducted in a year.

Weekly test Syllabus : Syllabus covered a week prior to the scheduled date of the weekly test.
Term - 1                    : 50% of the total syllabus
Annual Exam              : 50 % of the total syllabus
 FINAL RESULT (100 MARKS) – 50% OF TERM I + 50% OF TERM - 2
•          Assessment of holiday homework will be based on presentation, neatness, content and work done by
the child.
•          Assessment of notebooks will be based on class work, timely submission, neatness etc
•          Subject Enrichment activities will include poster making, models, group activity, enactment, role play, quiz, declamation, essay, report on the given topic and it will be assessed on the basis of presentation and content etc.
•          Students scoring 33% and above in all subjects and in the aggregate will qualify for promotion to the
next class.
•          If a child is on leave/absent for any of the assessment, he/she is not eligible for a rank or merit or prize. Student absent from any test, orals, practical’s or any examination are on no condition re- examined
•          Willful breach of any of the regulations for conduct of the examination is punishable and if the offence is repeated, it will result in the cancellation of the entire examination.
•          Evaluation will be done as follows:
INTERNAL ASSESSMENT (20 MARKS)
TERM EXAMINATION ( 60 MARKS CONVERTED INTO 30)
•          Students must obtain 33% marks in each subject for promotion to the next class.
•          75% attendance is must for the promotion to the next class. It is important for a child to be regular in
the class.
•          Results declared by the principal are final and will not be reconsidered.
•          Parents should carefully go through the Achievement record issued after the Assessment and return
the same to the class teacher with their signature.
•          Class assessment must also be signed by the parents as and when directed by the teachers.
•          Examination shall not be anticipated or postponed for individual students. Examinations missed or
failed will not be conducted again on any account.

CO – SCHOLASTIC AREAS
•          For the holistic development of the students, co-scholastic activities like SEWA projects, Skill Enhancement, work Education, Art Education (Art/ Dance/ Music) and Health and Physical Education (Sports & Yoga) will be carried out and graded term wise on a 3 point grading scale.

•          The students will also be assessed for discipline which will be bases on the factors like attendance, sincerity, behavior, values, tidiness, respect for rules and regulations, attitude towards people and property, respect for nature and environment. Grading on discipline will be done term wise.
