To mark our National Sports Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Fit India Movement. The movement aimed to encourage people to include physical activities and sports in their daily routine.
Later in November, the Prime Minister also launched the Fit India School grading system in schools across the country. This was his way to appeal to all schools to pay emphasis on a healthy and active lifestyle.
“I appeal that all schools should enroll in the Fit India ranking system and Fit India should become innate to our temperament. That it become a mass movement and bring awareness is what we must strive for,” Modi said.

It is a euphoric moment for us to share that Vidya Bharati School has duly fulfilled all the parameter of Fit India Star Rating school, a campaign launched by the Ministry of Youth and sports. Now we can proudly use Fit India Flag and Logo on school’s letterhead and in all promotional activities. We laud the superior and sincere approach towards sports and health awareness at the institution.
Taking the FIT India Movement Ahead
Vidya Bharati School took up the mantle of being actively involved in the movement very early. On August 29, 2019 we organized a live telecast of its launch. Students of grade III-XII watched this program and took a pledge to make this initiative a successful one.
On September 16, we took the Fit India Movement to the next level by dedicating a whole week campaign under “Fun with Fitness” for our kids to enhance their health and physical strength. Under this campaign our students enjoyed various fun filled sports activities and horne their skills like coordination and teamwork.
Students took up fun activities like Zumba in our school premises. Zumba’s exercise routines are executed to the rhythm of music which helps to improve the physical and mental state of students of all age groups. It was an especially splendid experience for the students of grade I-III as they enjoyed their moves.
We took the movement to its third level by celebrating Yoga and Meditation week for the students of grade Nursery to III.
Our biggest reason for being involved in the Fit India Movement with all our hearts was simple. Vidya Bharati School has always believed in inculcating a good and healthy lifestyle in our students from the grass root level which helps them to fortify their physical and mental health.
That belief is evident in our school campus.
Delhi NCR’s Best Sports Facilities
Sports, and physical activity have always been an integral part of the curriculum at Vidya Bharati. Our sprawling campus includes an Olympic size Football field, Volleyball and Basketball courts, lush green cricket and hockey fields, and a Lawn Tennis court.
Our commitment to offer the best sporting environment for our kids was duly recognized last month, when we became the proud recipient of the “Best Sports Facilities Award” under SOE Global Education 2019-20.
Our infrastructure and campus support our 360-degree development plan that encourages students to become rational, confident, and conscious citizens. To support this tall order, Vidya Bharati School has also been at the forefront of designing extracurricular activities that stimulate young minds and take them towards a journey of becoming future leaders.
